Bio
I started my musical adventures being inspired by the love of music shared by my parents at a young age. At the age of nine I took up the piano and learned the written language of music.
In junior high school I took up the tenor saxophone and was inspired by the works of George Gershwin. The guitar came into my life when I was seventeen.
Having studied guitar at the Wisconsin Conservatory of music, I received two scholarships and also attended the University of Wisconsin Parkside receiving a BF in education.
Throughout my studies I have had the pleasure be to be taught by Jack Grassel, Bill Stone, Don Linke, Dick Eliot, Mark Davis, Berkeley Fudge.
Some of the musicians I have share the stage include: Rick Aaron, Dean Lea, Dan Schneck, Dick Eliot, Bill Sargent, Smith & Bender, Darele Bisquerra and Robin Pluer.
With guitarist Gare Hofstad, we have created String Theory, a guitar duo featuring a repertoire of traditional jazz, blues, classic rock and Latin. With the addition of vocalist Julie Thompson the duo morphed into a trio called Julie Thompson and String Theory.
I have performed as soloist and ensemble musician at Water 2 Wine, Three Cellars, Wine 2 Glass, Sprizzos, the Chocolaterian, Jean's Jazz Festival, Café Sopra Mare, The Yardarm, Blu, Top of the Phister, The Estate, Charoline's, Summerfest Marathon for the Arts, Gallery Night and many more venues.
